July 2014

Back to the crash pad @ 711 Dearborn.  It’s been a blast having this place in Printers Row and really getting to know and love the city of Chicago.  This was the week of Lalapalooza so our neighborhood was packed.  Every night we walked around the park listening to some of the bands from the outside.  We made the trek up to Six Flags one day, and had an absolute blast.  We also journeyed out to see some theatre friends @NorthwesternU perform their last show of the summer program.  Carly was brilliant in her performance, of course, and we got to hang out with Sam afterwards at Kafein.  We also saw “Men Should Weep” @GriffinTheatreC

We also learned about Spot Hero on this trip.  If we drive, we normally leave the vehicle outside of town somewhere and just use public transportation to get around.  Since we were making some car trips this time, I wanted to leave the vehicle somewhere a little closer, but the lots/garages around our building are $25+ per day.  I found a spot on this site for about $6 per day about a mile from the apartment–reserved it online, printed out the pass, put it on the dash, and voila!  I picked a spot that had security cams and literally across the street from a police precinct.  Worked out great!  And parking was especially dicey this week because of LalaPoo.

This was the first trip we’ve made that didn’t include a stop at our favorite restaurant, @ChicagoDiner.  But we did hit up some other faves including Eleven City Diner, Yolk, and Native Foods.

Rather than our regular photo albums, I used Google Story to show a few pics from this trip.
